Hello! I am Hediye,

I am 23 years old and was born in the Midyat district of Mardin. However, I only spent three years in Mardin. The other twenty years are full of memories of Istanbul.

I graduated from Kanarya Primary School and then from Gülten Özaydın Anatolian High School in 2018. In 2019, I was placed in the Applied English and Translation department at a foundation university in Istanbul. I graduated from university this year (2023). I am currently preparing for the Vertical Transfer Exam.

My goal was always to be either an astronaut or an astrophysicist. However, for some reasons, I could not access these departments at university. However, it was still not too late. I could contribute something to the universe. I really wanted to work at NASA. I have been sending e-mails to NASA since high school. My consistency was in 2017 when I received an e-mail from NASA under the title "How to Become an Astronaut". After this e-mail, I intensified my space science research even more. There was a period of interruption when my university intervened, but I am still applying to NASA. I am currently taking advantage of the online STEM modules that NASA gifted me in collaboration with Texas State University. I started a long journey at STEM Learning UK and now I am serving as a STEM ambassador as part of this journey, which offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future. I also have an initiative called Ecozyon Tech, which works on combating the global climate crisis and sustainability.
