AUTHOR: Toshikazu Kawaguchi
Hello everyone,
I hope you are well. Besides, if you feel sad, it is okay. All the time, you reflect your feelings in good ways. However, human beings have a wide range of emotions to explain themselves. Society expects us to do the best one, how to seem, and more. It is not true.
You should be how you want to seem. Anyway, I just want to express this condition. Today, I would like to advise the book to you. This is the first time to blog in English. Normally, I blog in Turkish.
After that, I decided to express something in another language.
It is really important for me to connect people around the world. I am big fan of getting know another culture so I read a book. This book affect to me. I know you love this book when you read like me.
Think about a cafe. You can go to the past in this cafe. What a cafe. I expect that there is the cafe in real life :)
But there are many rules for going past in this cafe. This is cruel. I want to share with you these rules.
Lessons from the Rules
These rules are both fascinating and a bit frustrating, aren’t they? But think about it: if traveling to the past were truly possible, would it be this easy and unrestricted? I don’t think so. That’s why these rules not only add depth to the story but also make us, as readers, reflect deeply.
One rule, in particular, stood out to me: "No matter how hard you try, you cannot change the present." No matter how much effort you put in, you can't alter today. This reminded me of a significant truth about life: no matter what happened in the past, what shapes today is what we do now. Perhaps not being able to change the past is a blessing. After all, everything we have today is a result of what happened back then, isn’t it?
Why is this book so special for me?
The story of this book isn’t just about time travel; it’s also about human relationships, regrets, longings, and acceptance. While we can’t rewind time, it’s possible to make peace with how we feel about the past. And this book invites us to find that peace.
Each character presents a unique story, and their experiences in this magical café encourage us to reflect on our own lives. If you ever had the chance to visit such a café, would you go back to the past? If you did, what would you do? These questions lingered in the back of my mind the entire time I was reading.
Why should you read it?
If you enjoy reflecting on life and taking an emotional journey through past memories, this book is perfect for you. Moreover, the author’s writing style is so fluid and emotional that you feel like you’re part of the story.
While reading this book, I was deeply moved and learned so much. It beautifully captures the complexity and simplicity of life at the same time. When I finished it, I was left with many questions and a fresh perspective. That’s exactly what a book should do!
If you’ve already read this book, I’d love to hear your thoughts. And if you haven’t, I highly recommend getting a copy and diving into this story. A journey to the past might give you an entirely new outlook on today.

Publisher's description of the book;
The regulars at the magical Cafe Funiculi Funicula are well acquainted with its famous legend and extraordinary time-travel offering. Many patrons have reunited with old flames, made amends with estranged family, and visted loved ones. But the journey is not without risks and there are rules to follow. Travellers must have visited the cafe before and crucially, must return to the present in the time it takes their coffe to go cold.
'Soon I will pour youn cupof coffe,'Kazu explained while placing the cup in front of Michiko.'Coffe?' Michiko cocked her head inquisitively. She didn't see the connection between going back in time and coffe. 'Time you may spend back in the pas is limited, from time I pour the coffe until the time the coffe gets cold.' 'What? That short?'
